Written Arabic and spoken dialects

This tool uses Google’s standard Arabic translation. It does not offer a dedicated Egyptian, Levantine, or Gulf Arabic mode. Spoken Arabic varies by place and situation; a broadly understandable written translation may sound formal in an everyday conversation.

If your goal is a conversation with family or friends in Egypt, our Egyptian Arabic translator guide explains the distinction and available iPhone options.

Tips for clearer Arabic translations

Use complete sentences and make pronouns clear. Arabic wording can vary with the speaker and the person being addressed. Review mixed Arabic and English text, especially names, addresses, amounts, and dates. Automatic translation can misread dialect, informal spelling, or ambiguous phrases.
